Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Certificate released the October examination results for SSC (Std X) and HSC (Std XII) on Friday.

Mumbai’s overall result was a little better than that of the state. Across Maharashtra, 2.72 lakh students appeared for the exam and the pass percentage was 23.36%. In the city, girls outperformed boys. While 25.81% of the girls cleared the exam, pass percentage among boys was 23.18%. In case of Std XII results, while the state passing percentage is 22.03% the city has done better at 29.76%. Stream-wise, commerce has the highest number of students clearing the decks at 31.28%, followed by vocational (MCVC) at 30.35%, arts at 30.31% and science at 25.42%.
