MDU Cancels PG Entrance held on Feb. 24, 2008
The Government has canceled the post-graduate medical entrance examination conducted by
Vice Chancellor Prof. R.P. Hooda total a press conference at his office later today that he communication did not give out any details regarding re-conduct of the entrance exam for the MD, MS, MDS, and PG diploma courses. “After considering all available facts, the government has decided to cancel the PG entrance examination for Haryana medical colleges conducted on February 24,2008 by MDU,” the fax addressed to the V-C read.
The V-C had recommended canceling the exam in the light of the report of the four-mamber fact finding committee formed to go into the charges of irregularity.
Student and resident doctors of Pandit Bhagwan Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences had led a protest to push for cancellation of the entrance exam and a CBI probe.
The medicos suspended their agitation on Wednesday, on the assurance of justice by PGIMS Director Prof S.S. Sangwan.
The candidates who had cleared the entrance, it is learnt, have decided to mount a court challenge to the government move to cancel the exam.
