COMEDK - Undergraduate Entrance Test for 2007 (UGET) will be on May 6

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) has announced dates for a separate CET this year.

Comed-K's Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2007 will be held on May 6 — three days before the state CET scheduled for May 9. The announcement comes as a shocker as the government had already initiated talks with private professional college managements on holding a single CET from this year.

COMED-K to conduct seperate Entrance Test

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka reject single-day CET as `unilateral decision".Professional college seat aspirants may have to take separate entrance tests for government and management quota seats this year too.

Hours after the Government announced the date for its Common Entrance Test (CET), private college managements announced that they would conduct a separate entrance test. The test, that will be conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K), is likely to be held in May. But the exact dates will be announced later, according to COMED-K officials.

The managements have rejected the single-day CET as a "unilateral decision" of the State Government. For the colleges, the announcement was a bitter pill after the Government went ahead with its order on the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Their main grouse was that the KEA lacked autonomy, and was not an independent agency.

A single test could have avoided the need for a separate selection process.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) - 2007 will be held on only ONE day i.e., on 9th of May 2007 in three different sessions i.e., Physics & Chemistry in one paper in one session in the morning for 120 marks and 120 questions with 150 minutes duration Mathematics in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m. and Biology in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 4.00 p.m. and 5.20 p.m.

MHT-CET-2007 Maharashtra on May 20, 2007

NOTIFICATION MHT-CET-2007 - Government of Maharashtra shall conduct a single combined “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2007 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2007-2008.
